no, that isnt the issue at play here. the bug is that knockback resistance does not reduce vertical knockback for sprint hits/ knockback enchant hits. it should reduce all vertical knockback by an equal% instead of only reducing normal sweep hits.

I’ve recently been pvping with netherite armour and the problem michael mentions has been occuring a lot could you guys please look into this bug because it genuinely starts to piss me off because i am a competitive pvpers and i can say that other pvpers have been getting pissed at this aswell. The fact that Netherite Armour reduces vertical knockback from every other item and hit apart from sprint hits and hits with a knockback enchanted items is frankly ridiculous.
It's understandable that it would still allow for horizontal knockback - but the issue with the current meta when it comes to player versus player combat is the ease of being able to knock a player up into the blast radius of an end crystal.
If the developers were simply able to correct the issue of horizontal knockback (+Y) when wearing Netherite Armor in 1.16.2, it would greatly re-balence the currently `broken` player versus player combat mechanics.
Can confirm in 1.17.1. Video attached. I'd like to request ownership of this ticket since the current reporter has been inactive for over a year. I'm willing to keep this ticket updated and will continue to provide all of the necessary details.
