Okay, so I just tamed a cat. It teleported next to a villager's house to catch up to me. Then it just froze. It didn't want to move or teleport to me. It would still do its idle animation (just looking around motionless). But it can be simply fixed by just sitting your cat down and then making it stand up. I'm sure this can be recreated by letting the cat teleport to you. (For some reason I couldn't recreate it, but it did happen. I hope what I provided is enough proof, it did not want to follow or teleport to me until I sat it down then stood it back up again. Again, I hope this is enough proof, I hope it's far enough away. I wish I could've videoed it before I fixed it. I don't know what happened. I hope you can find it and fix it. It did, in fact, happen.

Please also check the wiki to make sure this isn't how they always behaved: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Cat#Taming
Yeah none of those happened. This cat didn't want to teleport to me.
I didn't order it to sit
The cat wasn't attempting to sit on a chest, bed, or furnace.
The cat is not in a minecart (obviously)
The cat is not attached to a fence post (obviously)
The cat is obviously in a loaded chunk
I am on a solid block and there are solid blocks all around me.
I am not in another dimension
I or my cat is not in the water.
Well it's not frozen anymore, because I fixed it by sitting it then standing it up again. Will this still work if I did this?
Go near a village house (with a bed inside), don't open the door. And get the cat to go near it. It'll try to go lay down in the bed even though the door is closed. It's really hard to explain.
I'm trying my best to recreate it so I can give more proof. I know this may look like an untamed cat. But if you try to look closely, you can see a red collar around its neck.
