So I recently built a portal to the Nether in my Overworld house, and on the Nether side of the portal, I build a sort of cobblestone shack around the portal. You can only enter or exit the shack via a redstone powered iron door with a button on both sides. I also placed a soul torch outside of the door to keep away piglins. However, somehow I ended up with two zombie piglins - one inside my portal room in my Overworld house, and one inside my Nether shack. The piglins would have had to either randomly spawn inside or glitch into my well lit shack, or else have ignored the soul torch and used the button to power the iron door before walking through the door into my shack and entering my portal to the Overworld. I was under the impression that Piglins were not supposed to be able to open iron doors and that they were to stay away from any placed soul fire objects. Thanks.

I've heard that piglins don't like soul soil any more than soul torches... is that also true? Because my portal spawned in a soul sand valley. Do piglins spawn in that biome as well? Or did they spawn in my house just because I added a cobble floor? And are mobs still supposed to spawn near your nether portal while you are near the portal in the Overworld? I'm fairly new to the game, and ever since I lit my Nether portal, things are getting really confusing :/ I really don't like the idea of mobs barging in my Overworld house at random, which is why I built around the nether side of my portal, put in an iron door, and added a soul fire torch... this seems to defeat the purpose of any precaution taken...
