In a world created in the 1.16.1 update item frames with items or maps inside wouldn't break. (Item frames without items break as usual). When attempting to recreate it by making new worlds and putting items in item frames, then breaking them, the bug was seemingly not there.
When testing out some mapart on a new world i tried breaking the item frame. I thought it would just break as normal.
When i did punch the item frame, it just stayed on the block and neither the item or the item frame disappeared.
To repoduce do the following:
1. Put the attached .rar file on your computer and extract it. (Feel free to check the files if you're skeptical about the legitimacy)
2. Drop the Save into your saves folder in .minecraft.
3. Start up Minecraft and enter the world.
4. Attempt to break the item frames.

Here are the screenshots. I wasn't sure if you wanted me to do the uuid and the result of the command so i did both. I also took screenshots of the uuid and the /data get command of a normal item frame.
Point at the item frame, then run
/data get entity <item frame's uuid>
(the item frame's uuid should show up as an auto complete option), take a screenshot of the result while you have your F3 debug screen enabled, and send us the resulting picture.
