Chunks won't load while spectating a Hardcore world

I play Hardcore mode a lot. But whenever I die and I try to spectate the world, the chunks don't load.

Just now, I spectated, and some chunks near the world-spawn loaded, but if I try to go somewhere else, it's just void.
