1.16.1 Nether Reset Portal Bug

I have had my singleplayer world since 1.13 and have not made any backups of my world when updating (oops). So far, no problems. Until I decided to reset the nether for the 1.16.1 update. I used mcselector (https://github.com/Querz/mcaselector), recommended by Minecraft Youtuber "Pixlriffs". The nether dimension reset without any problems, which is why I feel this isn't an error on mcselector's side and why I have come here instead.

What happened was the following:  when I entered my portal, after the reset, I got teleported into the nether, BUT there was no portal on this other side. The overworld portal had sent me through to the nether, but it didn't place a new portal in the nether. On top of that, when I placed a portal in the nether, to link them up, going from the nether to the overworld was no problem, I landed safely in the portal, but when I went back to the nether, I was still teleported to the same spot on the ground, not in the nether portal.

I've tried destroying both portals numerous times, nothing has changed. From my testing, all portals in the overworld within a certain range (I don't know exactly, but it might be the 128 block portal range) connect to the same "portalless" block. Farther portals in the overworld do successfully create new portals in the nether.

While writing this, I have a good way to describe this phenomenon: It's as if there was still an old invisible portal, from before the reset, but the game hasn't realized it's gone. Even though there is no physical evidence of the old portal, I believe the game might still think it's there.

While trying to get video evidence of this, I destroyed the portal in the nether, then went back to the overworld to show this bug on camera. But when I went through, I got sent to the nether roof, without having ever even placed a portal there. See Attached MP4.

I have now made another portal in the nether, so it isn't really affecting my gameplay, but it is preventing the portal in the overworld from connecting to any other portals that I might want to move by a few blocks in the nether.

Thank you for everything you guys do and for creating the greatest game ever,

Manually resetting the nether like this is not officially supported, and can cause issues like this.

Is there anyway to resolve this as this is happening to me too?

I reset some chunks in the nether for 1.16 so I can get the new terrain close by but now my portal is sending me to a location that used to be a nether portal.

Sorry but like [[Mod] Galaxy_2Alex|https://bugs.mojang.com/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=galaxy_2alex] said this is not officially supported and won't be fixed
