Randomly strewn throughout my minecraft map environment seems to be blocks or blockspaces where I can't place a block. Water does not flow through the block. I can't place a another block on this "invisible block". Mining does not remove or interact with it. However, my character can pass through these blocks as if nothing is there. These random blocks seem to be "remembered" despite restarts of the OS and Java Launcher.
I was using this launcher and realms world prior to 1.16.1 in the prior latest release 1.15.2 and there were no similar issues. I have attempted to roll back to prior releases, but only get the error message that the Realms world is incompatible with these other Launcher releases.
I detected this issue when I had water runs that were unbroken through the upgrade from 1.15.2 to 1.16.1, but when I made a change after the upgrade suddenly the water paths were blocked by these invisible blocks. I had run into other issues similar to this when mining or building, but thought they were transient and temporary glitches. However, since I've noticed it when building these water structures, I've realized they are persistent and interrupt my game play.
Thanks for looking into this!

No. No lag in game. No unusual lag in booting up the realm either. My internet is stable and typical 100 up/down as well.
Added a video file with F3 menu on. Video shows a region where I had long ago (~2 years) excavated some dirt down 2 spaces. I was filling this when I ran into the problem again with a few blocks in the first level. I ran into no such issues with the level above this though. It seems like this issue arises in the first block level on floors that I've excavated or built long ago. This world used to be hosted on a friend's personal server and was just recently uploaded to a Realms space I think around 2019 ish. Not sure if this info helps, but I hope it does. Also I can provide higher quality videos if needed. Also added a screenshot of my internet service at the time this video was captured.
I've been having this issue in 1.16.5. Just started hosting a server and have been getting reports from the players that there's a bunch of spots where they can't place a block. I've been having them tell me the coordinates for those blocks and then I just use the setblock command to place air in that spot. This fixes the issue, but it's been so frequent that I spend most of my time just running the setblock commands. Is there an actual fix that stops this from happening? In the picture, I've put red glass directly above the spots where you can't place blocks.
Maybe my issue is different from the OP, but in case it isn't, this could be related to MC-130961
@Timothy Phan since there's been some activity on here recently, just wanted to come back and update that I've still had this issue all the way up through 1.16.5. I've transitioned to running my world on a personal PaperMC server implemented on docker and ubuntu. I think paper was able to resolve some of the glitching blocks on first loading, but I've still run into many that I've only been able to resolve with the TNT trick I mentioned in earlier comments.
I may try to create an updated bug report with all of this new information soon. 1 other thing I wanted to try was to use World Edit to take the existing structures I care about from my old world and place them in a newly generated map seed to see if that might resolve the issue. But that will probably be 6+ weeks away until I can implement due to work and travel constraints. But I'll try to keep folks posted if I make any progress.
Please provide a screenshot of this occurring with your F3 debug screen enabled.
