I have a world called "test world" I'm in the lava with regeneration 255 for 10000 seconds
when I rejoin I died but still have regeneration

However, we are already tracking this issue, and this report is a Duplicate of MC-10755, which has been marked as Won't Fix - while this behaviour is not desirable, the developers have said that they will not or cannot fix it.
