When having an item with name {"translate":"key"} and try to oben a lockt chest {Lock:key} it don´t work if I have an active resourcepack whit a translation for "key".
To replicate:
Join attached world (v. 21w03a)
Try to open the dropper with the stick whitout the resourcepack
Activate the resourcepack and set your language to "Englisch / US"
Try to open the dropper again

You can use a resource pack to bypass the Lock.
To open a container with the enabled resource pack, the Lock needs to match the translation, so in this case:
§5Translated Item
To get such a Lock in game, click on this sign:
/setblock ~ ~ ~ oak_sign{Text1:'{"text":"","clickEvent":{"action":"run_command","value":"data modify block 8 4 8 Lock set value \\"\\u00A75Translated Item\\""}}'}
