Font becomes distorted when using a custom language pack with unicode characters

When using a custom language pack which contains at least one unicode character, all text becomes distorted and tiny. Upon switching to a different, non-custom language, it returns to normal.

In the screenshots below, it looks broken when using a custom English (US), but fine when I use Spanish.

That's a different issue! That issue is about custom fonts displaying incorrectly, whereas this is about the default Minecraft font not showing up properly when using a language pack.

Ok, got it. Reopened.

For whatever reason, mincraft switches to Unicode font when chosing a custom language.

There was a unicode character somewhere in the language file, so all the text got rendered as unicode.

That was right! I sniffed it out and fixed it. I'll edit this report appropriately.

But resolved to the reopened and updated ticket MC-2488

Thats what happend to me.
