Spacings between characters are missing when using default-shaped fonts. The default font itself works fine though.
Custom shaped font (which are completely different to the default font) on the other hand look like this: MC-17673 (spacings are wrong, but not missing in this case!)

The resolution of the pack is too high for the 'magical code that parses the 'widths' to work.
Until we add metadata to fonts and you are using it, this won't work.

@Grum:
So it worked fine with the old system, but the new system needs metadata to display even default-shaped fonts correctly? Doesn't really sound like an improvement to me, more like a lot of work for texture artists. Maybe any chance to let your nice converter tool add the correct metadata to HD default shaped-fonts? Custom fonts like that from Misa's Pack still need to be converted manually, but the widths for HD default-shaped fonts should be somehow calculateable for the converter, or not?
