The Bug:

The resistance effect doesn't reduce damage dealt from starvation.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Switch into survival mode and give yourself both the hunger and resistance effects by using the commands provided below.

    /effect give @s minecraft:hunger 100 255
    /effect give @s minecraft:resistance 100 255

  2. Wait until you begin starving and watch your health closely.

  3. Take note as to whether or not the resistance effect reduces damage dealt from starvation.

Observed Behavior:

The resistance effect doesn't reduce damage dealt from starvation.

Expected Behavior:

The resistance effect would reduce damage dealt from starvation.

Can confirm in 21w41a. The expected behavior would be that the resistance effect reduces starvation damage.

I could be wrong, but I think there's a damage_type tag called bypasses_effects and it has starve in it?
