Blocks can be placed on previously broken blocks, even in the air

When a block is broken and immediately replaced, the new block can be placed in place of the previous block, even in the air without any normal block for it to be placed on.

What I expected to happen was:

The new block not to be placed.

What actually happened was:

Instead, the new block was placed in the same place where the, now removed, previous block was, even though the new block is not placeable when aiming at air.

 * *Steps to Reproduce:

1: Place a block so that it is floating.

2: Press the left and right mouse button at the same time, the timing for this is rather precise.
