When starting up Minecraft using a snapshot of 1.6 or higher, all the text is jumbled and rendered unreadable. This ONLY seems to affect the client itself and not the launcher.

Opened client, problem not presenting, activated resource pack, still no issue.
Closed client, relaunched with resource pack activated, problem now present.
Deactivate resource pack, problem still present.
Deactivate resource pack, close, relaunch, issue gone again.
So is it a duplicate of MC-17673?
