Minecraft Launcher Exit Code 0- Game No Longer Works, At All. Tried For 6 Hours To Make It Work And Nothing Helps.

For some reason, when I tried to play Minecraft today, it won't even let me launch ANY version of Minecraft whatsoever. Just gives me "Game Crashed, Exit Code 0" and nothing further.

I have tried SO many things to get this to work, and I can't believe nothing works.

I've tried:

  1. Running Minecraft in Compatibility mode (both in Windows 8 and Windows Vista, neither work)

  2. Running Minecraft as an Administrator

  3. Uninstalling Java and Minecraft completely, shutting my computer off totally, and then rebooting.

  4. I have both versions of Java installed now, but I have a 64 bit system and over 7 GB of available RAM, so I don't know what's causing this. I tried allocating more RAM and then launching, or reducing the RAM, no dice.

  5. I've enabled Vertical Sync and Triple buffering to be on.

  6. I've deleted the .minecraft Roaming folder, uninstalling Minceraft, uninstalling Java, turning my computer off and then installing everything again off the top.

I just don't understand what I did on my end that causes this error. I didn't do anything before the launcher just stopped working (didn't have any computer updates or anything), just suddenly it doesn't launch at all anymore. I have spent over 6 hours trying to fix this with no luck. I don't know how to get any help on this, nor do I have any hope of anybody replying to this. It's just a last ditch effort, so I'm probably just yelling into the void here.

I've attached the error log below. If you see this, I would appreciate any suggestions.

Update: I tried re-installing my video card driver and forcing sysdm.cpl to create mini-dumps. I'm playing Vanilla Minecraft here- I don't have any mods installed, I'm just trying to play a world, any world at this point. Is there really no other way to get help?

Hello Rachel, in your logfile there's the error "Failed to write core dump"; it could be maybe your graphics card drivers.
I'll give you a link, but please be sure that you know what you do on/with your computer, I don't want to be responsible for any issues that come by you trying out what's explained there 🙂 The VSync/Triple buffering you mentioned would be for Nvidia GPU only, but just go over the post carefully yourself:

I hope it'll help!
Good luck,
Meri

@Meri Diana:

Thanks for reaching out, but I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest drivers (for both Intel and NVIDIA) like I mentioned in my original post already. I saw that article when I was trying to enable mini dump, so I've already followed those steps with no results. Thank you though!

To the mod- thank you for replying, but I don't know what to do here.

Also, I've posted in the Community Support Discord already, twice- and no one responded. I've read so many Technical Support Resource articles with still nothing. There are zero support articles for this, so I'm not sure what to do next at all. I feel like there's no way to get any help at this point because my issue has been marked as Invalid and Resolved, even though it clearly is an issue. I know it's not anyone's fault, but I find it frustrating that I've completed all the "steps" listed by Mojang and I still don't have an answer. Do I just have to accept that I won't be able to play ever again?  Or that I can't get any direct support for the game at all?

Unfortunately I can't re-open this as a legitimate error, but it was closed incorrectly. I've provided more details as to where the problem lies in [MC-202787

@Rachel P
I am having the same issue, and I was wondering if you have figured out how to fix it, and if you did would you be able to help me out?

Hi, I found what was the issue for me : right click and CLOSE GEFORCE EXPERIENCE or what you use to update your graphic card in the system tray ! Hope it'll help.

If unfortunately my solution doesn't work for you, check this site to see what can cause problems with Minecraft : https://minecrafthopper.net/help/known-incompatible-software/

I'm getting the exact same issue!
