Can't join multiplayer over same wifi

Friends world's don't appear when connected via same wifi. Their worlds will appear to each other, but not to me. Have checked LAN and internet connection, and am convinced this is a bug.

Hello! Just wanted to let you know this is for Bedrock edition and not Java.

Are you using the Java Edition or are using an iPhone? Those are mutually exclusive.
