Despite both being ores that appear in the nether, they aren't grouped together. Nether gold ore comes after overworld ores, but quartz ore is so far away, you would rather use the search instead.
It may make sense to group the quartz ore with quartz blocks, but why aren't other ores grouped like that? My suggestion is to group all the ores together

I believe that this isn't a bug so much as a confusing creative inventory. If you scroll through the whole creative inventory, you'll notice that Diamond, Emerald, Lapis, and Redstone ores are all also separate to the Gold, Iron, and Coal ores
Relates to MC-1797
This really isn't a "bug" Its working as intended, but its not in the most convenient spot, this also happens for various other blocks in the creative inventory.
All creative inventory introduced in 1.16 or later are currently accepted, and it's up to Mojang to decide whether or not they're valid 🙂
Can confrim. They are also not grouped with ancient debries, even though it is also found in the nether.
