When you add more than 36 different types of item to a bundle in your inventory and right-click on it to empty, all items added after the 35th disappear. I assume the correct behaviour should be for them to fall to the ground, but instead they are deleted.

This is an intended feature, in creative when a player has a full inventory he will still pick up items and they will disappear, which works as intended. You can see that in survival the items don't disappear but fall on the ground. It is only logical that what happens in creative is the items drop on the ground but before they reach the ground they go into your full inventory and disappear, this also matches up visually
In creative, you will always pick up any items on the ground, even if your inventories full. Have you tested this in Survival mode?
