Running Minecraft was fine until I recently updated to macOS Big Sur... Now half the time my FPS is at a normal 60-70 FPS which is perfect, the other half it's at 30 FPS and lags like crazy... I am pretty sure this is a fault on Apple's part but Mojang may need to update something for macOS users as well to solve this issue... Something to be concerned about...

It definitely isn't my specs... My iMac is quite new and the specs are actually very top of the line... I think its either a problem with Big Sur or it's a problem with Minecraft not being able to support Big Sur properly... I am betting on it just being Big Sur but it could be Minecraft as well... It's definitely capable of running both Minecraft and Big Sur simultaneously...
If you don't have any other ideas then thanks for your help, I appreciate it...

Try checking your system specs if they meet the minimum requirements to run Minecraft, probably your Mac could be saturated or not backupped.
