Hi the new minecraft 1.6.1 update slows my fps and many other players of the server i play with a very large community. Mine and everyone elses fps is hardly playable when before the new launcher we had no difficultys.
My Fps before new launcher: 60-80 'Easily Handles'
My Fps using new launcher: 4-9 '100% not playable'
On a singleplayer flat world i reach a max of 20 whihc before i would get a max of 140 for flat worlds.
Needs to be fixed or an alternative luncher for people who do not have $1000-$3000 pc's.
I can not play and moderate my server no longer as i can barely type.
All these fps measures are with all settings on lowest. i have played minecraft for just under 2 years and have played everyday since then and this is disapointing.

Yes I have done my research and im guessing your about to ask me to make my minecraft run from my dedicated graphics card. But my pc doesnt have a dedicated graphics card its an asus k53u laptop with an inbuilt asus graphics it is more of an office pc but it ran minecraft smoothly before new launcher. Does this update require higher end parts and hardware or is this fixable cause minecraft is my hobby 🙂 thx for ur time

Same problem here for both my wife and I. We are running minecraft on Ultrabooks (Dell and Toshiba) with integrated graphics. We get 20-40 fps with 1.5.2. With 1.6.1, we start out with 20 fps and then rapidly drop to 3-5, which is unplayable. We play with the launcher closed. We have updated to the most recent java, the most recent graphics drivers, and the most recent networks drivers, to no avail.
Fortunately, I did not delete the executable for 1.5.2, so I am still able to play.
