Trader llamas continue retaliating against a player that hits or kills the Wandering Trader they belong to, even more than once.
As far as I know, they shouldn't continue to spit more than once, which is their usual retaliating behavior.
Both Trader Llamas retaliate against the player if both of them see the player doing the hit or kill.
They have to have spawned naturally and be leashed; killing a Wandering Trader in front of an unleashed Trader Llama doesn't make it retaliate.

Why would it be intentional. This behavior doesn't match the normal one, where they spit at you once.
Also as I specified, if this were intended, then both llamas would have spit me. And only one did.
That's why this is a bug.
I confirm but
I think this is intentional
When you kill bunch of wandering trader with bunch of trader llama appears.
They will spit you over and over so you're not unstoppable to them
I can confirm in 20w51a, that trader llamas do continue to spit even after the player / mob that they're hostile towards has been slain. This happens quite rarely, so it may be difficult to reproduce.
This is what really happens:
1. Trader Llamas retaliate against anything that attacks what they are leashed to.
2. They continuously retaliate if they are on a lead.
3. They won't stop unless they die, lose their target if you reload the world, or are given a new target.
I opened a report, but I didn't find that it was already discussed
You can reproduce it by using a leash on a llama and hitting him.
When spit loop starts, u can stop it by either stretching the leash (by running away) or by removing the leash with right-click on the llama.
Without the leash, the llama will never spit endlessly. That's also why it can happen with a wandering trader, hit a llama once and it will stop spitting only when the trader, by running away, stretches the leash enough to make the llamas follow him.
By my thought, this is not intentional.
Here's a 1.16.5 reproduction that I did
[media]Still happens on 25w03a
I don't know if it happens for any entity they might be leashed to, but for Wandering Traders, it still happens
Seems to be closely tied to MC-215097 (btw, thanks for giving more specific details and why it happens for Wandering Traders as well)
Can confirm, though this is likely intentional.
