Skins never showing up and server always down for maintenance

When I try to join a server it always says server down for maintenance I tried many times in the last two days. And also the skin is never showing up. I tried switching my internet connections and reinstalling minecraft. I bought the game recently and it forced me to use a microsoft account. Also I looked online and the servers were up
