Bees won't accept creative mode bee nests

Bees won't go to a bee nest placed from Creative mode, even if the bees were spawned in the same room as the bee nest. At night, they won't sleep in the bee nest and instead will fly around until daytime. The bees will get pollen from flowers, but won't do anything with it.
