The bug

Villages can override bedrock if generated on it. Specifically, bedrock gets replaced by grass path blocks.

How to reproduce

  1. Create a super flat world that is only bedrock. Use the following preset for example:

    10*minecraft:bedrock;minecraft:plains
  2. Find a village
→ ❌ The village paths will override the bedrock

This could be used in vanilla if the village generates on the bedrock layer

Apart from it being about cave worlds instead of superflat worlds, do MC-129235 or MC-215094 describe your issue?

No, this is different from MC-215094 and MC-129235 is about structures generating above bedrock, this is about village paths generating in the bedrock layer in an all bedrock super flat world allowing you to mine the path and fall into the void if the bedrock is only one layer on the bedrock super flat

Can confirm in 23w03a

It seems bedrock can only be replaced if it isn't in the lowest 3 layers of the world.
