This bug report is a parity issue with Bedrock.
Summary:
In the bedrock version, when placing a pointed dripstone in the air with the command - it breaks. In Java, it will remain "flying" in the air.
I believe this is done correctly in the bedrock as the pointed dripstone should break without support like similar blocks (even when placed with commands)
Steps to Reproduce:
Stand in the air.
Write the command:
/setblock ~ ~ ~ pointed_dripstone
Observed Results:
Pointed dripstone will be placed and will not break.
Expected results:
The pointed dripstone will be placed but will break immediately.

Don't say this is a known parity issue between versions! For example, the grass is placed in both versions in the air)

Yes. This is naturally a duplicate of this report, but since this is a parity problem, I think that developers should take this into account)
