This same glitch of the iron golem not reaching mobs being three blocks high (even though it can reach) also exists in Minecraft bedrock.

Is this still a bug considering the mob attack reach changes in 23w33a?

@Thomas Holleman yes, this issue still exists.

Confirmed in 1.21.4 prerelease 2

Following that logic, players should only be able to reach 1 block away, but for a more balanced gameplay I'd say 2 to 2.5 blocks is good (Tools/weapons can increase that range).

How has this not gotten a WAI after the mob attack range changes from a while ago? Mob attack reach was specifically stated in the changelog to be changed to the hitbox extended horizontally for all mobs.
