Explosion particles seem to be unaffected by particles option.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Set particles to minimal

  2. Place TNT

  3. Use flint and steel

  4. Watch as the particles appear

I agree that this is not a duplicate, it is about the removed smoke particles.

In that case, would MC-165991 happen to describe your issue?

Minimal does not mean none, the particles are reduced
