Breaking bamboo is excessively laggy since the 1.17 pre-releases

Breaking bamboo in 1.17-pre4 is incredibly laggy compared to the snapshots. Not sure what would be the cause of this.

I went from 30 fps to 4 by breaking bamboo; this wasn't the case in 21w20a.
