Duplicate of MC-188529, which was later resolved as "Won't Fix". Switch to the "Fabulous!" graphic setting in order to fix this issue.

Fabulous! performace is really bad btw...
That's why it exists. If your computer can't handle it, you still have the option not to use it, at the cost of not having nice transparency effects like this.
