Minecraft Java in game muneu is not showing properly with dedicated graphics card

I have a laptop that can run my graphics integrated graphics on my processor (7th gen i7) or on a dedicated graphics (Nvidia 1050Ti).

Both drivers are up to date and I can run more demanding games without issue, however starting up Minecraft will not work unless I first disable my Nvidia driver before starting and the game will run as it's supposed to.

I can then re-enable my Nvidia driver and the game seems to run fine, though there are some minor visual glitches that pop up from time to time but I have no way of knowing if they are related to the same problem.

When I do try starting with my Nvidia driver enabled I get a white square on a black background. I can click on buttons in the menu and even get a world to play if I'm lucky but still can not see anything I'm doing.

I have had this problem to a varying degree going back at least to Minecraft 1.16 ish and have only now discovered this work around.

This is clearly not how the game is supposed to start up. I hope the information I have helps in solving this issue.

The graphics card is probably not designed for gaming, I think.

I know what I have and yes it is designed for gaming.

The graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti. the machine is an Acer Aspire VX capable of 1080p in full HD.

And regardless of weather it is "designed" for gaming [which it is] – it easily outperforms the minimum requirements for Minecraft.

Status update:

Recently tried updating my drivers AGAIN, Issue still persists.

Driver is up to date yet somehow the game will not display properly when started with dedicated graphics driver enabled.

Have you tried Nvidia support?

Please check if this is still an issue in 1.17.1 or later.
