Placing fence gates right beside a redstone source will not update them to the open state

When you place a door/trapdoor down into an already powered redstone current the door/trapdoor doesn't update automatically without manually updating it by placing a block next to the door/trapdoor. This bug doesn't occur with a piston (Also doesn't occur with powered rail, redstone lamp...) as when you place a piston down at the end of a redstone current thats powered the piston will immediately shoot its head up, however this doesn't happen with a door (Both wooden and Iron) and a trapdoor.

Steps on Re-creating:
1) Lay down a redstone torch
2) Place a door/trapdoor next to it
3) Nothing should happen so put a block next to the door/trapdoor

There you just had to manually update the door/trapdoor

Is this still a concern on Minecraft 1.4.4 Pre-Release? If so, please update the affected versions.

Confirmed in 13w04a.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.6.4 / Launcher version 1.2.5 ? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Confirmed in 1.8-pre1 for the new doors also.

Not completely fixed in 15w35a. Trapdoors and doors place in the 'open' state, but fence gates do not.

Confirmed for 16w39a.
