Safe mode button not working

Please provide more details regarding this issue as this report is quite difficult to understand. Does the game crash/freeze at all when pressing this button? Are you certain that this occurs in the latest release and without the use of modifications?

This bug appears to be what happens when you try to load a 1.18 Experimental Snapshot 1 in 1.18 Experimental Snapshot 2.

can confirm for 1.17.1. The button is just not functional at all

Can confirm for 1.19.3, the game does not freeze, it just looks as if the button does nothing
