For example, furnaces, blast furnaces, and smokers all have their own container texture, despite them all being the same (this is good for artists).ย A weaker example is between anvils and smithing tables, whos textures are nearly identical.
However, chests, double chests, Ender chests, and barrels still use generic_54, which is hacky and unintuitive to work with, while Shulker boxes have their own container texture; Dispensers and droppers share the same container texture with each other as well.
While it would seem to be incredibly redundant to give all of these their own texture, the precedent has already been set with the 3 furnace types, and Shulker boxes, thusly I am considering this an inconsistency that should be addressed.

This is not a feature request, this is an inconsistency that should be addressed like any other texture and file inconsistency have been in the past, that have been reported here.
You are requesting that the container textures be changed. If there was an actual inconsistency with these textures, then this would be a bug. Just because multiple containers use the same texture does not mean that there is an inconsistency or bug.
The report doesn't say that the textures would be changed, just that the files would be split. Reports like these have been made before and were fixed accordingly. MC-178130 for example was a similar case where subtitles were split for consistency
This is an actual inconsistency though, not with the texture content but their presence (or lack thereof). There is a precedent set by newer textures, specifically furnaces, blast furnaces, and smokers, that each container screen should have its own texture, to which older assets have not been updated to fix this. If the three furnaces have their own textures, that look identical mind you, while the 4 storage blocks, bar one, are all share one texture, that which alsoย mutates itself depending on which one of the storage blocks is being accessed,ย is not an inconsistency? Then I really don't know what is anymore.

Let's try a different wording: The furnace, smoker, and blast furnace all have individual filepaths for their gui's, even if said gui textures are identical in contents. This is good.
Chests, double chests, Ender chests, and barrels, as well as dispensers and droppers, share filepaths with one another. This is bad, it is inconsistent with the precedent set by the recent two furnace blocks. They should be changed to have individual file paths like the furnaces do.
This does not mean creating an entirely new texture. For regular and Ender chests, and barrels, they can just copy-paste the Shulker box's texture. Double chests can keep using generic_54.png, but renamed. Droppers just copy-paste the dispenser's texture.
