Can confirm on this seed: -8330603083619589917

Rivers seem to occasionally generate on large portions of land.

Is this really intended behavior and not an issue with the biome builder? From how i see it looks like there's a flaw when saddle valleys try to generate but then a river biome gets placed there when it shouldn't.

I think this should be checked again, as this issue is very similar to the one happening with oceans (MC-237621). Very consistent when you're exploring.

Can confirm this still happens in 21w41a.

Why would this be marked "Works As Intended?" It is clearly a bug and not intended behavior, because, you know... you should be able to swim through a river, not walk on it.

In the screenshots that I posted it seems to happen especially on mostly moderately hilly terrain, located in between otherwise flat terrain; The river stars off wide and shallow in flat terrain, but then it narrows when it hits a hill without getting deeper which seems to cause most of these issues.

But rivers also don't seem to connect correctly when to close to each other (especially when close to other connections?) which formed that river plateau. (Or maybe a third river tried spawning and somehow failed?)

In any case, this clearly is NOT working as intended.

Should not be marked as WAI, looks awful, not what the intent of saddle valleys are. Saddle valleys are supposed to generate the biome with the river's terrain, not both the terrain and the biome.
