If you destroy a boat or minecart it'll be dropped in Creative Mode. It's really annoying if you test your minecart coaster a couple times. The inventory fills up with minecarts.

This isn't a bug. This is more of an annoyance. This should be closed for this. Remember Mr.Mod, the Minecraft Forums are for suggestions. 😛
I thought it was. Items are not supposed to drop if they were broken in creative mode, paintings used to and they were fixed as a bug a while ago. Correct me if I'm wrong.
This is definitely a bug. Blocks don't (usually) drop in creative mode, so why should minecarts or boats?

I agree that it shouldn't drop. This also happens when testing contraptions with boats and it's annoying to have an inventory full of them.
