Using a double piston extender with redstone we can see this clearly. When looking at the attachment, it is expected that when this double piston extender retracts, the sand or concrete power should retract with it without issues, and it does in versions 1.18.1 and below. But suddenly in versions 1.18.2 and above the falling blocks will start breaking, this can be reproduced by building this structure.

for the structure, the bottom two pistons should both be sticky pistons, the 3rd piston is not needed for this to work but it can be placed as a regular or sticky piston

That issue is another old one, this is one specifically with double piston extenders after the version 1.18.2 because it breaks many of these kinds of piston doors. This is a new issue as every version before exactly 1.18.2 doesnβt suffer this
Can confirm in 1.20.2, but I'm here not just to confirm if this bug still occur in the latest version of the game but also to see if this is a dupe of MC-26356. Well obviously, this is a dupe of MC-26356 but the reporter said that this doesn't affect below 1.18.1 and prevent it from become a dupe of MC-26356. It's seems that an addition, a change, a bug or a bug fix make this issue occur but I can't find it.
This issue actually duplicates MC-143508

The bug tracker only allows me to type in 1.19 as a version, but this is also bugged on version 1.18.2. However, 1.18, 1.18.1, and 1.17.1 are not broken
