This is a bug i found home at my friend, and then i tested it now in 1.4.4 pre-release. The bug is, that if you take a mob into a square hole like picture 1, you will go on the side and you can sometimes see the mob through the corner like in picture 2.

This has been a long standing issue. It's actually kind of nice sometimes, because you can hit hostile mobs through the corners.
I made a little dog house once and this happened. but then it started suffocating and died. but this may have been because a villlager entered the doghouse with it and pushed it through the wall.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Well, your pig measures diagonally 1.45 blocks (0.65 wide x 1.3 long). Your jail diagonally 1.41 blocks. The remaining 0.04 of the pig are just sticking out.
