The Bug:
Hanging signs are all destroyed at the same time upon losing support.
This behavior is inconsistent with similar blocks that require support such as caves vines and weeping vines.
Steps to Reproduce:
Summon a large tower of hanging signs all of which are supported by a singular block.
/setblock ~2 ~20 ~2 minecraft:diamond_block/fill ~2 ~19 ~2 ~2 ~1 ~2 minecraft:bamboo_hanging_signBreak the diamond block that's supporting the hanging signs.
Watch closely as the hanging signs are destroyed due to them losing support.
Take note as to whether or not hanging signs are all destroyed at the same time upon losing support.
Observed Behavior:
Hanging signs are all destroyed at the same time upon losing support.
Expected Behavior:
Hanging signs would all be destroyed gradually starting from top to bottom upon losing support, following the behavior of similar blocks that require support such as cave vines and weeping vines.
Avoma
Relates to MC-151622, MC-151623, MC-151624, and MC-151625.
Also, note that this isn't a duplicate of MC-151625. MC-151625 talks about signs and wall signs whereas this ticket, MC-256928, talks about hanging signs and hanging signs with their "attached" block state set to "true".
If the team wishes to merge these two reports into one ticket, however, I'm completely fine with this. I just thought they should be reported separately due to hanging signs requiring the blocks above them to be supported, whereas signs/wall signs require the blocks below/horizontally adjacent to them to be supported.
