When using the creative inventory search function and typing in "boat", the oak boat and oak boat with chest are out of order. In the Tools and Utilities tab, they are not out of order.

Works As Intended, items are sorted by tab placement first as @unknown mentioned. See MC-256753 for example.
Oak boats with chests appear in an earlier tab, redstone; search is first and foremost sorted as all tabs after eachother.
