I was mining and got cornered by 3 zombies. Shield up, but I couldn't get past them. I died in a very small, enclosed space. Naturally, as soon as I respawned I got a lil food and equipment out my chests and went back to where I died. I did this within certainly less than 5 min as where I was mining was in the cave system I go to by my base. I know the items didn't just vanish upon death because before clicking respawn, I heard the zombies picking up my armor. When I went back, the zombies were there, so I got my armor back and the single arrow that zombie also picked up. But once I reached where I died, there was absolutely nothing there. Everything was gone. Why did this happen? More info: this was a purely single player world, not realms, not open to LAN.

Probably the same issue still. Singleplayer is a 1-man local server and connecting client after all.

I can't confirm this issue, I want you (jameslime214) to answer these question:
After that, do items still despawn less than 5 minutes?
What seed does you play and what is the location you death?
Do you use any mods?
Thank you for your report!
