Shading on block_display entities is inconsistent with blocks and other block-like entities

The shading applied to block_display entities is noticeably flat when compared to the shading applied to both blocks and the falling_block entity. Top faces appear brighter in general, and shading will occasionally go so far as to appear inverted, rendering darker on the top and lighter on the bottom where blocks would appear darker on the bottom and lighter on top. This is clearly not just some limitation on entity shading as, again, falling_block entities are shaded as expected.

This is a feature request.

I'm a little confused here, how is it a feature request if falling blocks shading/smooth lighting works as expected? Seems inconsistent to me, both are rendered as entities and this behavior makes opt out the use of block_display to accurately represent fake/disguised blocks.

This is already a problem with other entities/block entities and they're currently being triaged in MC-1531 & MC-231102, so i don't see why this one would be any different.

So if this is a Feature, then I posted it in Minecraft Feedback Discord Guild!
