Going to try and share specific details as much as I can; I do some level of software engineering as a hobby and I know it's important to do so.
Program Version:
Downloaded client from Minecraft.net.
Basically it's the Linux version of Minecraft.
Program Settings:
Hard difficulty.
Minimum visual specs in most cases. No fancy lighting or clouds, running at minimum possible graphical settings; favoring performance.
Expected Result:
Warden loses "sight" of player when player is far above ground or out of normal "sight" range, which is believed to be 16❓ blocks radius.
Actual Result:
Warden "tracks" player far out of normal range. May or may not be able to attack from very far away.
Situation:
Summoned a Warden under normal conditions. Cleared a lot of Sculk, too close to sensor/spawn area, Warden appeared. Warden wandered far away from Sculk area and started drifting through lava lake.
When the Warden tracked me (the player) towards the nearest exit, I was destroyed by a Warden's attack. At the time I was behind an artificially built wall in such a way that might allow me to return to the area and run away before the Warden noticed again.
Warden remained active. Most likely normal? What was not normal was the resulting situation.
Warden tracking was EXTREME. Warden kept spotting player character with range as far as positive Y of 60 or more. Warden initiated threat behavior despite player not being anywhere in reasonable range. Behavior was similar at Y: 16-ish but somewhat more believable. However, Warden is still as far down as Y: -50 or more.
Unsure if Warden was able to attack from extreme range.
Final screenshot is from home base, which is easily Y: 40+ or so.

I'll try to replicate the results one more time.
Will upload soon.
Results will not be able to be replicated in same location as I've already cleared it out.
I'm going to find some other Sculk biome and see if the same thing happens there.
I made an unlisted video.
I'm afraid it's more inconclusive than I thought, but there is still some weird stuff going on here.
In the original situation, I died running away from the Warden. Despite this, the Warden persisted for a long time after I was dead. I was still hearing the Warden extremely close to my home base (located at roughly Y:50 or so) which is why I took pictures especially with subtitles on.
That's why it says "Warden Takes Notice" because I can still hear the Warden being agitated and active despite the fact that I am (in Minecraft terms) basically a MILE away from the creature, and I know this because I went back down the staircase only to find out the Warden was still mostly around the Deep Dark area.
As you can see in the unlisted video the Warden's sound still carries WAY farther than the normal Deep Dark area. It still also shows up on the audio subtitles, proving that it's still very audible.
There's a chance that maybe it's not so much the Warden tracking the player rather than being extremely loud despite being at a lower position. This even happened in the video provided, as you can tell.
Not sure how to provide world download to Jira.
Do you recommend file sharing platform like Dropbox or like?
Otherwise may not be possible.
Try zipping the world file, and adding it then. Go to .minecraft/saves/ and find your world. Next, right click the file of the world and choose "compress to zip file".
Upload to a file hosting side (e.g. google drive, mediafire, etc.) make sure it can be dowloaded by anyone with a link, and provide the link here.
Do note that the warden can fit and go up those stairs from what I can tell. It's possible that it tried to follow you up to the surface. They can be quite fast when they're fully aggroed.
It would be helpful if you could provide a video showcasing this issue so we can understand what exactly your issue is.
