When I try backing up a few of my larger worlds, the game stops responding and forces me to close the program. I have tried many things to resolve the issue including but not limited to: Increasing allocated RAM, reinstalling the launcher and resetting game data. The exit code given is -805306369, however it seems that other varieties of this bug are unique.
Steps To Replicate:
1: Have a decently large world save file and open the edit option on the world in the game.
2: Click "backup" or "optimize" then backup and load
3: Wait for the game to stop responding.

I'm not sure how to reply directly to your comment, however I am not sure about the world size. What I do know is that if you wait long enough it's possible for the backup to complete saving, which I realized after leaving my PC for about 10 minutes. 10 minutes for a backup is still quite absurd though.
If you copy a several Gb folder, it's going to take a while; which is exactly what happened.
No bug here, though, I suppose, windows marking it as unresponsive could bea valid issue.
Yeah, an easy fix is just to copy paste the actual save file. I'm just worried about corruption and or it being a bug if the game freezes
Something i noticed is the game unfreezes and finishes the backup in windowed mode, however it forces me to force close the program on fullscreen.
We do not have enough information to find the cause of this issue.

How long did you give it time to back up? Also, how large is large? How many Mb/Gb?
