Depth Strider 3 doesn't apply when gliding into a body of water

When gliding with the elytra into any body of water, the Depth Strider 3 enchantment doesn't modify the swimming speed of the player, making them instead swim at the default (id est not affected by any enchantment or effect) speed. Approaching the water while walking or running instead applies the enchantment correctly when swimming, so the issue revolves around the gliding mode specifically.

To reproduce:

1. Equip elytra and a pair of boots with Depth Strider 3 enchantment;

2. glide into a body of water and start swimming (pressing W + the sprint key);

3. Repeat step 1 and 2 without equipping the elytra, walking or running instead into the water and swimming as above;

4. compare the swimming speed difference between point 2 and 3.

The swimming speeds between point 2 and 3 are different, which would be a bug because, as the player swims in the water, Depth Strider 3 should be applied regardless of how they got into it.

Did you stop gliding (land on a block) in your test?

If you mean while underwater, landing on a block while gliding does the following for me: the character returns to its standard standing position (with the hitbox 2 blocks tall for instance), and attempting to swim afterwards actually engages Depth Strider correctly. This happens underwater regardless if I stop moving forward (stop pressing the W key) or continue swimming in gliding mode until i land on a block.

I also just noticed that, under the conditions described up to point 2., the character slowly sinks, even if I try to swim upwards. This keeps going on until it lands on a block at which point it resets to the standing position and can resume swimming normally.

Clarification: holding down the space bar makes the character float towards the surface of the water, but normally in swimming mode I can swim to the surface by just holding the W key and pointing the crosshair upwards, which is not the case in point 2.

Then, duplicate of MC-260440, you're not swimming.
