to reproduce this glitch, waterlog a block like leaves and place a carpet on it. Then, break the leaves or whatever block you have placed. Now you have a carpet block floating above water. (i think this would work on older version but I discovered this when chopping down a mangrove tree and a moss carpet spawned on a mangrove roots at the y -63)

Isn't this still possible without using waterloggable blocks by simply placing carpets against the sides of blocks above water?
