I noticed when working with blocks that are on render pass 0, they should obviously be opaque. However if you have a block on this pass with a slightly translucent texture, with render distance set to short or tiny, the block becomes slightly translucency.
To replicate:
Without the code at hand replace a block texture (such as the Gold Block) with a translucent texture (As shown in the attachment).
If you have the code at hand, merely set Ice to return 0 for its render pass.
Regardless this happens with view distance set to short or Tiny

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.7.2 / Launcher version 1.3.4 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
