The Bug:

The wind charged, weaving, and oozing effects only occur once the said entity has fully died.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Splash an entity with the wind charged effect.

  2. Kill it and wait for the wind charged potion effect to occur.

Observed Behavior:

The wind charged, weaving, and oozing effects only occur once the said entity has fully died.

Expected Behavior:

The wind charged, weaving, and oozing effects would occur once the said entity has died.

Can confirm. Relates to MC-269952 and MC-269951 and MC-87634. The effects only occur once the death animation has finished.

To be more clear, the expected behavior here would be for these effects to work once the entity dies, but currently they only work once the entity is fully removed from the world.

As depicted in the video in MC-270115, this is inconsistent with wither roses. When a mob is killed by a wither, the wither rose is placed immediately rather than waiting for the animation to finish.

This also affects 24w14a.
