May affect past versions too
I was trying to make a fast auto diamond compressing machine when I found out that Hopper Minecarts do not place items into Crafters
How to Reproduce
Place Crafter on the ground
Shift place rails on to crafter
place hopper minecart onto rails
place items into hopper minecart
No items go through
(Breaking the rails does not help)

We're actually already tracking this issue in MC-7656, so this ticket is being resolved and linked as a duplicate.
However, that ticket has been resolved as working as intended, which means that this will not be fixed as it is not considered a bug.
