What I expected to happen was...:

launching server after downloading from official page should have been 1.21

What actually happened was...:
minecraft server version is  1.20.6 instead of 1.21

Steps to Reproduce:
1. https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server
2. download server
3. launch server

4. check version.

I am experiencing the same issue. The link on the server download page (https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server) leads to https://piston-data.mojang.com/v1/objects/145ff0858209bcfc164859ba735d4199aafa1eea/server.jar - this server is 1.20.6

I can confirm that the page is now updated to point to https://piston-data.mojang.com/v1/objects/450698d1863ab5180c25d7c804ef0fe6369dd1ba/server.jar which is a 1.21 server.

Even if this was still a problem, this issue would be invalid for this project, as you would have to report it in the WEB project.
