Create a new world
Exit that world once creation is done
Recreate the world
Open the saves folder in .minecraft
Delete the world with the same name as the one that you are trying to recreate
Expected Result:
The world name should not include any (1)s or any other syntax
Observed Result:
The world name contains (1) when the original file was deleted
Note that if you click on the box with the world name, then it immediately removes the (1)
Comments 3
Can confirm, but the steps need clarification. Enter the recreate world menu first, delete New World
(with no (1)), then actually recreate the world.

This is probably a feature request. Also, doing this would likely have performance impacts.
I can confirm though.
